Shooting in Fort Mill leaves 2 teens wounded. Police asking public for information

FORT MILL — Police are asking for the public’s help with information into a shooting that left teens injured Wednesday night.

The Fort Mill Police Department received several calls from residents in the area of 900 to 1100 Forest Ridge Drive, reporting gunshots at around 8:17 p.m., the department said in a news release sent to local media late Wednesday night.

“Officers responded immediately to the Forest Ridge Apartments, 2300 Forest Ridge Drive and Highway 21 North, and located witnesses that reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing an unknown number of persons fleeing the area, on foot and in vehicles. While at that incident location, officers received information that two subjects, that were allegedly involved in the shooting, had stopped at two different locations in close proximity and requested medical assistance for apparent gunshot wounds,” the release states.

Police say the two gunshot victims are both 16 year-old males who were taken to Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte.

“Their conditions are unknown at this time,” the release states.
