Arrests made in Fort Mill shooting, but police still have questions

Darrian Parker of Lancaster was charged today with attempted murder after a shooting in Fort Mill Wednesday night, according to Fort Mill police.

FORT MILL — Police have arrested a 17 year-old from Lancaster in connection with a shooting outside the Forest Ridge Apartments Wednesday night that left two other teens wounded.

Darrian Parker was arrested today and charged with attempted murder, according to the Fort Mill Police Department. Another 17 year-old from Lancaster has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, police said. That suspect, who’s being prosecuted as a juvenile, was released to a parent, police said. Parker, who was charged as an adult, was denied bon and is being held at the York County Detention Center.

Police responded to calls about the shootings Wednesday night and found two 16 year-olds with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a Charlotte hospital. There was no information available about the condition of either of the two 16 year-olds.

“The Fort Mill Police Department would like to acknowledge assistance received in this case, from the Rock Hill Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office, and the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit,” a news release from the FMPD states.
