Fort Mill Police reports: Identity theft and a very specific item stolen

FORT MILL — A Fort Mill woman called police March 5 to report that she believes her personal information stolen in recent breach involving Atrium Health, according to a report.

The woman, who told police she is an Atrium employee, said someone tried to open an account in her name at a local credit union. She said she obtained information about the person who tried to open the account, including her name, which she forwarded to police, the report states.

According to the report, the suspect also rented a Nissan Altima using the allegedly stolen identity and that the Altima is now listed as a stolen vehicle.

The case remains under investigation.

A very specific theft

A Fort Mill man told police that sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, someone stole the lug nuts and right rear tire from his “locked and secured” 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in his driveway on Spring Blossom Trail, a report states.

The man whose tire was stolen told police one brick had been placed under the axle and another under the right front wheel.
