Nation Ford star expected back for playoff showdown

FORT MILL — Nation Ford High School hosts the third round of the S.C. 5A boys basketball playoffs Tuesday night.

Tip off against Mauldin is 7 p.m.

The Falcons defeated Wade Hampton 66-42 in the second round. Shaman Alston led Nation Ford with 13 points. Zeb Graham, voted last week as S.C. 5A Player of The Year, missed the second half with a foot injury.

He’s expected back for the Mauldin game.

Ranked No. 4 in the state according to, Nation Ford is 24-4 on the season. Mauldin (21-6) is No. 13, according to the site’s rankings.

Girls’ run ends

Nation Ford’s girls made it to the Upper State semis, but that’s where the team’s season ended. Spring Valley advanced to the 5A Upper State championship with a 76-45 win. Kelci Adams led the Falcons with 18 points. The team finished 23-6 on the year.
